Mauro D'Agati began working as a professional photographer in 1995 when he started covering many Sicilian jazz festivals, art manifestations and local theatre events. D'Agati was motivated by the exploration of Sicilian, especially Palermitan, social phenomena.
Since then Mauro D'Agati has undertaken work for numerous Italian and international publications including Geo, Stern, Suddeutsche Zeitung, Das Magazin, Vision China, El Pias Semanal, Le Monde, GQ, L'Espresso and Internazionale.
Mauro D'Agati is represented by the German photography agency Focus; and has already published five books, including three recent titles, which D'Agati had published with Steidl Verlag in Germany.
